Andrew joined Hewitt and Gilpin as a legal executive in October 2010, having graduated from Newcastle University with an honours degree in Law.Â Following an apprenticeship with the practice, he joined the firmâ€™s Private Client department as a solicitor in 2013.Â
Primarily, Andrew acts for private clients in the drafting of wills and the administration of estates, including making probate applications to the High Court.
He has built up a wealth of experience in matters relating to capacity in the drafting of Enduring Powers of Attorney and in making Controllership and other applications to the Office of Care and Protection in the High Court in Belfast.
Andrew has also developed a significant residential conveyancing practice and specialises in acting for first time buyers and those acquiring dwellings within large residential developments.
He has also assisted in the practice’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution department and has experience in acting for creditors in debt recovery proceedings and representing plaintiffs and defendants in general commercial actions.
He is a full member of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association.
